The Spotlight is On: Savannah Benton
At Cien, we’re lucky to have a diverse, talented and passionate team! In this series, we meet a Cien team member to ask them what it’s like to work at an AI-first start up.
This week we meet Marketing Intern Savannah Benton.
Where are you from, and what brought you to Barcelona?
I am originally from Boston, MA and moved to Atlanta, GA as a teenager. After college, I was ready to completely change my life, my career path and take some risks. So I moved to Barcelona to pursue a Masters in Business Communications with hopes that it would create more opportunities for me in the Public Relations field. Being hired on the marketing team at Cien was the ultimate bonus!
Why did you join Cien?
I knew Cien would be the perfect fit for me. Not only because of the job description, but the startup work environment was something that really intrigued me. Coming from working for a big organization, it felt really good to know that the work I do with Cien will being adding some sort of value on a daily basis.
Describe your role in three words.
Connect. Promote. Pitch.
What’s the best thing about your job?
My coworkers. Being able to work side by side with an international team of talented, fun, hard working people and at the same time learn about different cultures, is always a plus.
What have you learned since you’ve joined Cien?
I’ve learned that nothing is set in stone when it comes to startup life. It’s important to always stay on your toes and be prepared for anything.
In your opinion, are the developments in AI going to take our jobs?
I don’t think it will. I think AI will just make our jobs a little easier.
How do you apply the Cien core values in your day to day work?
Daily excellence. Everyday, I do my best to finish any task given to me in a timely manner.
What is the best advice you have ever received?
Always stay interesting.
