The Spotlight is On: Katrina Sukhova

This week we meet Finance Manager Katrina Sukhova.

Where are you from, and what brought you to Barcelona?

I’m a finance professional from Russia and Finland. For the last 6 years, I have worked  in high-tech fast growing start-up companies and VCs. I moved to Barcelona, because I love sun, sea and the culture. I believe Barcelona will be the next start-up capital of Europe. In my free time I like to travel, learn about new cultures, play sports and practice ballet and salsa.

Why did you join Cien? What is it about the company’s vision, product and team that made you want to join Cien?

I like to work in fast-growing environment, so Cien was the perfect match for me. I like to challenge myself and start things from the beginning. I’m passionate about new technologies, especially robotics and AI. I’m happy to be a part of this tech revolution!

Describe your role in three words.

Transform vision to plan!

What’s the best thing about your job?

My job is intellectually stimulating and creative at the same time. You get business insights, full understanding of company’s activity and help turn vision into numbers, precise plan and see how the planned things are going or not going forward.

What have you learned since you’ve joined Cien?

I’ve learned how to plan very precisely from day one and lots of new metrics.

In your opinion, are the developments in AI going to take our jobs?

Not mine ☺

How do you apply the Cien core values in your day to day work? 

I try to apply Cien’s core values everyday.

What is the best advice you have ever received?

“Never dream of success. Work for it.”
